Since 1949, Silver Towne has been providing quality precious metal gifts, coins and collectibles. In 1983 they expanded their business to offer custom minted products through what is now known as Silver Towne Mint.
The military “Challenge Coin” tradition can be traced back to World War I, in an effort to stress the importance of keeping a coin as a form of identification with you at all times. This tradition has lived on, spreading to all military branches and more recently to the Police, Fire & Rescue and other public servants. Now, businesses and organizations are realizing the impact that these coin make and are discovering that nothing impresses customers, clients, employees and business associates like the glitter of pure silver, gold and solid brass.
Business people are using the popular one-ounce pure silver and gold medallions as unique presentations to current and potential customers. They have proven to be a low-cost yet very impressive way to say “Thank you for your business”.
The practice has proven so successful for some that they have taken the next logical step: commissioning the design and custom minting of medallions bearing their company logo or promotional message.
